How to cleanse your face properly

How to cleanse your face properly

Why is cleansing so important?

Every day, our skin is exposed to pollution, sebum, makeup and microorganisms, as well as care cosmetics, sunscreen creams, etc. Imprecise cleansing may lead to clogging of pores, formation of imperfections, accelerated skin aging and reduced effectiveness of care products. Even if you don't do makeup, don't skip this step.

How to properly carry out the cleansing process?

The skin of the face should be cleansed both in the evening and in the morning. Evening cleansing should be a two-step process to effectively remove all impurities created during the day and prepare the skin for further care. In morning cleansing, we skip step 1 and only perform step 2.

Step 1: Makeup Removal and Surface Cleansing

The first step focuses on removing makeup, sunscreen, skincare products, and surface impurities.

  1. Wash your hands and dry them with a clean towel.
  2. Apply and gently rub a makeup remover (balm, cream, or oil) in your hands.
  3. Gently massage your face, neck, and décolletage with circular motions. This massage should last no longer than one minute, or 30–40 seconds if your skin is very sensitive.
  4. Moisten the EQ Makeup Wipe cloth with warm (not hot) water and wring it out lightly.
  5. Thoroughly remove the product from your face, neck, and décolletage using the cloth in circular motions. The microfiber effectively removes makeup without the need for vigorous rubbing. Do not bunch the cloth; keep it flat for use.
  6. Rinse the cloth with warm water before the next step, or use a second clean cloth.

Remember: your face ends below your bust. Be sure to cleanse all areas thoroughly.

Step 2: Deep Cleansing

The second step removes any residual cosmetics and impurities that may remain on the skin. For morning cleansing, it focuses on removing overnight skincare products.

  1. Apply a gentle cleansing gel or foam to your face. If the product can be lathered, use a special mesh to create the foam.
  2. Use a clean EQ Makeup Wipe cloth moistened with warm water to gently cleanse your skin, focusing on areas most prone to impurities, such as the forehead, nose, chin, neck, and décolletage. Be thorough along the hairline to prevent blackheads.
  3. Rinse the cloth under water and gently wipe all areas again.
  4. Wait a moment until your skin is dry. You can pat it dry with a paper towel.
  5. Apply toner or essence and wait for it to absorb. Avoid applying skincare products to wet skin.
  6. Proceed with your evening skincare routine.
