Hand care all year round

Hand care all year round

Hands are one of the most exposed parts of our body, and at the same time one of the fastest aging. They are exposed to external factors, detergents and changing weather conditions every day. Each season requires different care, so it is worth adapting cosmetics and treatments to the current weather conditions.

Spring - regeneration after winter

After winter, the skin of the hands is often dry, cracked and lacks elasticity. During this period, its intensive hydration and regeneration are crucial.

What to look for when choosing cosmetics?

✔ Hyaluronic acid - deeply moisturizes.
✔ Shea butter - rebuilds the hydrolipid barrier.
✔ Panthenol - soothes irritations.
✔ Vegetable oils (e.g. almond, coconut) - regenerate and strengthen the skin.

The best products for spring:

  • Nourishing hand creams - light, but rich in moisturizing ingredients.
  • Hand serum - concentrated formulas that accelerate skin regeneration.
  • Hand scrubs - gently exfoliate dead skin, preparing the skin to receive active ingredients.

Home care:
Once a week, exfoliate your hands with sugar (sugar + olive oil + honey), then apply a thick layer of cream and put on cotton gloves overnight.

Summer - protection and hydration

In the summer, the skin of your hands is exposed to UV rays, high temperatures and frequent hand washing (e.g. after applying sunscreen). This can lead to skin dehydration and discoloration.

What to look for when choosing cosmetics?

✔ UV filters (SPF 30-50) - protection against photoaging.

✔ Aloe - moisturizes and soothes irritations.

✔ Vitamins C and E - act as antioxidants.

✔ Lactic acid - gently exfoliates the epidermis and evens out skin tone.

The best products for summer:

  • Hand creams with UV filters - a daily necessity.
  • A light moisturizing emulsion - absorbs quickly and does not leave a greasy layer.
  • Cooling hand masks - ideal after intense sunbathing.

Home care:
On hot days, keep your hand cream in the fridge - its application will be more pleasant, and the skin will additionally cool down.

Autumn - preparations for winter

Autumn is a time to rebuild the skin after the summer and prepare it for winter conditions. It is worth introducing more nourishing cosmetics and regular regenerative treatments.

What to look for when choosing cosmetics?

✔ Retinol - improves skin elasticity.

✔ Ceramides - strengthen the protective barrier.

✔ Vegetable oils (argan, jojoba) - regenerate and nourish.

✔ Urea (5-10%) - deeply moisturizes and smoothes the skin.

The best products for autumn:

  • Rich regenerating creams - restore skin's softness.
  • Oil serum - used at night gives great results.
  • Enzymatic peels - gently exfoliate dead skin.

Home care:

Prepare a mask of avocado and olive oil - apply the mixed ingredients to your hands and leave for 15 minutes.

Winter - intensive protection and regeneration

In winter, the skin of your hands is particularly exposed to frost, wind and dry air. It can become chapped, red and cracked.

What to look for when choosing cosmetics?

✔ Lanolin - a protective substance for the skin.

✔ Beeswax - loss of moisture.

✔ Vitamin A - regenerates and prevents skin cracking.

✔ Urea (10% and more) - acts as a regular moisturizer.

The best products for winter:

  • Oily, protective hand creams - protect against frost.
  • Hand masks for the night - e.g. with paraffin or oils.
  • Protective balms - for use before going out in the cold.

Home care:

Before going to bed, apply a thick layer of cream, apply the mask and leave it on all night.

Paraffin wax for hands - is it worth it? How to perform the treatment at home?

Paraffin wax is one of the most effective ways of intensively moisturizing and smoothing your hands. It creates an occlusive layer on the skin, which retains moisture and helps absorb nutrients.

Advantages of paraffin wax for hands:

  • Deeply moisturizes and regenerates the skin.
  • Creates a protective layer that protects against frost and wind.
  • Improves circulation and warms the hands.
  • Smoothes and softens the skin.

How to make a paraffin mask at home?

1. Prepare your hands - do a scrub to remove dead skin.

2. Heat the paraffin - melt it in a special heater or water bath to a temperature of approx. 45°C.

3. Dip your hands in paraffin - three times, wait between layers until the previous one hardens.

4. Put on plastic gloves and wrap your hands in a towel - wait 15-20 minutes.

5. Remove the paraffin and apply a nourishing cream.

When should you avoid paraffin?

❌ For skin prone to allergies and eczema.

❌ For open wounds and skin damage. Summary Each season requires different hand care.

In summer, UV protection and light formulas are key, in winter – regeneration and greasy creams. Regular use of masks, peelings and paraffin baths will make the skin of your hands soft and well-groomed all year round!
